Privacy notice for the WA-Chain Edu early access list

Version of 10 October 2026. This notice covers the early access list (waitlist) and matches the WA-Chain Privacy Policy (version 1.0, 2 October 2026).

Who we are

WA-Chain, a student-led team based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. We will give our full address promptly on request.

What we collect

To stop automated sign-ups, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser. We do not receive those signals.

To count how often our pages are viewed, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it is not used to identify you. Your browser sends Cloudflare the address of the page you viewed, the page you came from, your browser type and how fast the page loaded. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Why we use it

We use your details only to provide WA-Chain Edu to you in the way that suits you best. In practice, this means:

Only if you tick the optional box, we also send you occasional WA-Chain updates. You can stop them at any time.

We never sell your details or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Where your details go

Your details pass through two companies only. Both are in the United States.

Both companies act on our behalf. For the data protection system in the United States, see the summary published by Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission: ppc.go.jp (United States). When you tick the consent box, you agree to your details being handled by these companies in the United States.

How long we keep it

After that, we delete your details. We may keep overall numbers that cannot identify you, such as how many people registered from each country.

How we protect it

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your details, to stop using them, or to stop sending emails. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. Reply to your confirmation email or write to the contact above. There is no charge. If you live in the EEA or the UK, the legal basis is your consent, and you may also complain to your data protection authority.

If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before you register.
